So I recently (as of yesterday), decided to start a petition to hopefully go to UK government!
In my opinion children, in school, should be taught about the farming industry and where their food comes from. Children often are not given the choice to decide what they eat, and why, as this is governed by family and adult influence. Children should be given the right to know the truth behind where their food comes from, so they can make up their own minds about what they eat. The children of today make up the future of this planet, why not give them a chance to make the future a more compassionate, cruelty free, healthier place to live. Children do not deserve to be lied to or not be shown the harsh realities of where cute farm animals end up.

The saddest thing about school, public or private, is its lacking educational value. I know someone who taught 3rd grade at a private school (in La Jolla) who censored the comment “duck is not a vegetable” from her blog. She really doesn’t want anyone to know that duck isn’t a vegetable. (Blog is called “Trek or Treats”.)
